Historic Preservation

Beecher Terrace is a severely distressed public housing development that began construction in 1939 and opened its doors to public housing residents in 1941.  The site is comprised of 31.40 acres on four super blocks and is bordered by Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Jefferson, 9th and 12th Streets. Because Beecher Terrace, Baxter Square Park and other buildings surrounding the site are historic properties, the Vision Russell team is completing a Historic Section 106 review.
