Urban Strategies

Urban Strategies is a national nonprofit whose mission is to empower residents in distressed urban neighborhoods to lead healthy, prosperous lives in thriving, self-sustaining communities.  Founded in 1978, Urban Strategies works with communities to help build safe neighborhoods, enhance schools, and provide a range of comprehensive human service supports.   With the input of residents and community stakeholders, Urban Strategies has assisted in designing and implementing a wide range of transformative projects in urban communities across the country including New Orleans, LA and Memphis, TN. During their work with Beecher Terrace households over the next five years, Urban Strategies staff will be providing direct case management services, assisting in workforce and resident leadership development, and linking families to a broad range of community service providers.
